| yesterday was a very, very, very good day....for one reason!
RX-8 is finally here.
FINALLY, after months of painful suspense, and even more painful news ("sorry, we temporarily cannot locate the placement of your car") it's here
and i can't stop grinning like an idiot.
seriously, that car is sweet...i've got gps, heated leather seats, cd system, the works, but that's not why i've got this goofy grin on my face.
no, the reason is because i took a corner at 10 mph higher than i was supposed to, and instead of flying off the corner, i got an adrenaline rush. the perfect suspensions, coupled with a very low center of gravity and perfect 50/50 balance, create a very nimble car. plus, the colors help too
i even named the car too...called it "liger zero" or "zero" for short...course, some ppl have reservations about the name, but i like it. ask me what it means, and i'll tell you...don't wanna get flamed TOO much
of course, there's the 600 break-in period...soo hard to reign in my "zero" there's absolutely NO difference between 50 mph and 80 mph...not...that...i'm going that fast...yea...
anyways, now i'm going to go take some pictures of my zero...i'll probably upload them tonight
| hmmm.....lots of stuff happened recently...
tim's b-day party last night, so i decided last minute (mike, you really need to plan these things out ahead of time >.<") to go. much fun.
i got a request/invite from john (no, not my roommate) to go "someplace" with him, which usually translates into a street race. still wondering about that one....
there's also the usual hw and studying that seems to be more than usual. maybe it's because that my midterms are starting to overlap each other.
i've decided to start working out again, meaning instead of normal exercise like i've been doing, i've switched to the steve meister-inspired exercises. someone help me, i'm in pain
well, it's about time to go eat breakfast, then class.
| whew....busy week
went to play badminton yesterday with a couple of friends. met justin there, who, i think, was JUST about to leave because of utter, total boredom (no one came). but then i came and he stayed...sorry for the all-nighter you probably had to pull
i actually did pretty well last night. justin and i teamed up to play a game. we lost one and won one, both 15-12. i'm sooo out of shape, but then that's what the gym membership is for. i did a backhand drop, then a backhand smash cancelled into a backhand drop. faked that guy out
afterwards, went to go see the moon at the berkeley national laboratory. that was fun. mike, if you even think about challenging the master at warcraft, then i got 3 words for you. "just bring it"
oh yea, beth, i'm just that way around you~~~ thanks for that moon cake too. feel proud that i do things to you! i don't act like that around just anyone, you know....
now, i'm off to bed, because i'm unbelievably tired right now. *hops in bed*
| wheee....been soo busy that i haven't updated this in a while....
first of all, now at berkeley, home of the wonderfully fast internet connection and also galactically stupid (more on this later...)
turns out that EVERYONE is living close to me, including, but not limited to, justin, mike, nathan, jon, beth, nancy, jennifer, and a couple of others as well
my classes suck. not the way you're thinking either...the ppl in them seems to have hit the "Format" button on their brains...for one thing, the person next to me in my math lecture seemed to doubt the existence of pi..."i don't think it exists...it's too accurate, too coincidental...it's too perfect an integer" good grief....integer my foot. Then, we spent 15 minutes trying to figure out the slope of a line.
chem's not that much better either...the first day, we learned what the mole was. today, we learned how to balance equations...
the girl sitting next to my roommate asked, "2H? is that H2O?" -_-;;
my most intellectually challenging class is american studies! i don't even know what it is! TA's pretty cool tho. "class, i'm gonna take roll...*takes attendance*...ok, i'm done taking roll...see you next week." =)
met up with beth yesterday, and i don't care what she says, yes, we did break several rules infiltrating unit 3. just goes to show how "tight" security is...
well, i'm gonna go get lunch...i don't think i'm gonna get the freshman 15. mainly cuz the food's actually pretty good, and not that greasy, and i have to walk up a frickin mountain everyday to get to my dorm
| wheee...past few weeks have been hectic. fun and hectic. kinda contradictory, but i think i'm allowed to say fun and hectic in the same sentence.
first, crater lake. long drive up there, but it was worth it. the lake was pristine, the air was fresh, and it was quiet. or...it would have been quiet except for all the other tourists like me up there. but after leaving the tourist area for the rim drive, it was cool. apparently, the entire thing was formed from a big chunk of cliff falling. when i got there, it took me a while to find the line between lake and sky; it was THAT clear.
we also went cave exploring. that would've been fun, except the average ceiling height was about 5'7"...and i dare say i'm considerably taller than that. well, it was still fun. got some great pics, but unfortunately, i have no idea where to post them. >.<
finally, vegas. that was also fun, except....we originally asked for 2 rooms, and instead, Mirage stuck us in a deluxe room....
we got to see the "O" at bellagio. all i can say is, daaaaaayyyyymmmm......you got synchronized swimming, you got trapeze acts, you got fire dancing.....the best part was the russian swings, where ppl would be catapulted off and fly into the water...THAT'S RIGHT! WATER. the stage worked by raising and lowering the surface. When raised, it was a normal stage. when lowered, it became a pool. the really cool part was when one second, you had a crowd of ppl running across, then the next you had someone on a trapeze, and then she falls, and you think a horrible splat is going to occur, but then she just dives into the water, and you go, "whew...wait. where'd that water come from?!" highly recommended, soundtrack's great too. you're listening to the opening right now. everyone should go see it
while i was there, i saw a woman playing blackjack. i swear, some ppl have too much money and not enough brains....>.< in the 5 min that i was there, she did 2 incredibly, horribly stupid things.
1) dealer face card was a 6, she had a total of 15. she hit........drawing a jack, and busting....
2) she had 2 nines, and she....split....she then drew a 4 and a 3....-_-;;
if that's the lvl of caliber of the blackjack tables, it's no wonder the casinos win so much money
next wednesday, my parents and i are driving up to vancouver, canada! it'll be a 2 day drive, and we'll be sightseeing along the way!
